why we love this

A tender place where meaning is felt without needing to be understood. Resonant drones reach out in reverse, while fleeting keys of reflection linger peacefully. Decay becomes a path toward renewal in these quiet corners, as Aiko maintains space for the fleeting.

about the record

A delicate, meditative collection recorded between March and November 2024 in Aiko Takahashi’s former studio, a secluded spot near the River Isonzo, between Gorizia and Nova Gorica in Slovenia. Created specifically for laaps, the album was largely recorded using dense layers of manipulated loops that weave in and out of the recordings, shaped in a singular way through effects pedals, tape decks, and tape loops. The Grass Harp is a meditation on decay and silence, blending warm soundscapes with soft, playful melodies.
