The trio Damata brings their own references into relatively simple compositions inspired by, among other things, American jazz before Norway voted against joining the EU, Nordic jazz after Norway joined NATO, and classical music from after Norway separated from the union with Sweden. With references to genres such as hip-hop, electronics and ambient, Damata tries to go beyond the normal within the guitar trio concept.
