why we love this

Low frequencies breathe, stretch, and conform to a diffuse landscape. Glinting notes dissolve into fluid synth pads, as if nothing ever truly vanishes. It just slips beyond the edge of peripheral vision.

about the record

Drifting Stones is the result of a dialogue between Dutch photographer Paul Cupido and Polish electronic composer Pawel Pruski, initiated by IIKKI between September 2023 and March 2025.

Pawel Pruski is known for blending organic elements, subtle synthetic layers, and field recordings to create immersive ambient and experimental soundscapes. He experiments with various modular systems and logical-mathematical concepts, including the implementation of probability theory.

Paul Cupido’s work explores the philosophical concept of Mu, which can be translated as “the fertile void,” capturing the fleeting nature of existence through photography and film. His photographs reflect transcendent moments, bridging personal experiences with universal themes of love, time, and impermanence.
