why we love this

Amidst bird calls and running water, a breeze plays the forest like a flute. Sparsely-plucked guitars diffuse like fog around Satomimagaeโ€™s soft-sung voice. This record is invigorating, like the scent of freshly-cut grass.

about the record

Taba, an album by Japanese musician, songwriter, and traveler Satomimagae, unfolds as a series of vignettes that document both the personal and the universal, the seen and unseen. Observing and absorbing the fleeting scenes and sounds of life flowing outside her home studio, Satomi sings beyond herself, in an orbit of souls and systems both in the present and in the strange flux of memory, leaving linear songwriting to rest for circuitous stories expansive in tone and texture.
