On ‘Emo Dub’ Zaumne aka Mateusz Olszewski presents seven studies on emotions in emo-less world. He spent hours exploring Youtube, diving into ASMR videos of artificial emotions, later on he transformed found material into a gold in a meaningful, poetic way. ‘Emo Dub’ is about relations and feelings: being in love, sharing flat with friends, breaking off, being happy, being sad, being tired, staying awake at night, longing, being trapped in social media feed.
Zaumne said in one interview that he enjoys to listen to ambient music early in the morning after the night spent in the club. He can then still feel the techno pulse echoing in his body and his mind is projecting new layers on sounds he listens in a room. This description fit quite well to music he produces, with a palette of muffled lo-fi beats and soothing textures which resonates pleasantly for a long time in listeners minds and bodies.
