about the record

The second in a series of 10” vinyl remix collaboration releases by Danish musician Mads Emil Nielsen and German sound artist and producer Hanno Leichtmann under his Chromacolor moniker.

Side A features Heartbeats, a composition Nielsen originally created for a radio soundtrack. The track is derived from loops and granulations of sine waves and pulses from Nielsen’s modular synth, later combined with recordings of synthesized bass and layers of organ-like tones.

On Side B, Leichtmann combined sounds from the original mix with his Hohner Guitaret, Fender Rhodes, and Moog bass. Additional cello tones by Anthea Caddy and vocal contributions from Annie Garlid round out the remix.

  1. 1 - Mads Emil Nielsen - Heartbeats 7:53
  2. 2 - Chromacolor - Heartbeats / Chromacolor Remix 5:58
