why we love this

Morose loops turn in slow motion, with the past tugging at their crackling textures. A run-down merry-go-round spins at an abandoned theme park, evoking a haunting scene where there was once life, but now, only desolate repetition remains.

about the record

Rituals is an album of spiraling drone and ambient formations by Italian artist Danilo Betti, also known as April Clocks. It delves deep into spheres of consuming, hypnagogic haze, flowing through nine coalescent compositions of amorphous yet absorbing electronics. With a focus on decomposition and otherworldly futurism, decay and sublimation, distortion and lustre, this unique, cerebral music reaches inward and ascends outward, drifting elsewhere according to its own coordinates.
