why we love this
This five-piece collection engages the listener's ability to perceive and locate sound, inviting a deeper connection to the music and the space it creates.
about the record
A collection of spatial compositions in which audio focal points shift between external and internal emanation sources. The intent of this work is to move beyond the stereo image and create an activated listening space with expanded spatialization. By using just intoned pitch combinations to produce difference tones and harmonic distortions, sound materials are generated that emanate both from the playback speakers and the listenerโs inner ear. Engaging the listenerโs aural perception and sound localization in relation to the compositional structure, these pieces aim to reframe the listening experience and encourage interaction not only with the form and aesthetics of the music but also with the sonic space a recorded piece projects.
