about the cassette
Jordan Stanley is Edinburgh composer Jordan Russell-Hall.
"Empty For Hundred" is a collection of Jordan Stanley’s previously recorded music, heavily manipulated and re-recorded through six different tape playback speeds without adding any additional overdubs.
Compiling the tape edits, he chopped up the recordings and used loops, echoes, glitches, and saturation to create warm and eerie sound collages while following a rigid set of recording rules. The album name is a pun on the main device used as an instrument—the MT-400—reflecting the cut-and-paste process itself.
