about the record

Oak Corridor is the second full-length album from Newcastle-based Australian duo Troth, Amelia Besseny and Cooper Bowman. It follows their warmly received 2020 album Flaws In The Glass on Altered States Tapes and 2021โ€™s Small Movements In Radiance mini-album on Not Not Fun. While the same themes and intentions remain, this time Troth channels their ambient experiments into a sound closer to minimal wave and synth-pop.

Although Oak Corridor is their most song-based album to date, it continues the respectful treatment of natural themes found in their previous releases. These include elements of balance, truth, justice, humility, and strains of mysticism from varied origins, alongside an opposition to the encroachment of ill-advised development surrounding them in Newcastle and Australia more broadly. The album is a truly collaborative affair, offering a sound diary of their relationship.
