The music from this first release by aprilsixteen was initially written by Mark Ibsgaard Gregersen to be performed at different venues in Copenhagen during the winters of 2024 and 2025. At some point, an audio file from a recorded acoustic quartet performance found its way into a solo set. Over the following weeks, most of the quartet audio was combined with digital processing methods from the solo work. By recording the material back through a Tascam 244, the sound of the album gradually began to take shape. It was, however, through revisiting the solo work in this context that aprilsixteen was formed.
