Inspired by a 2018 dream of Japanese artist Nakayama Munetoshi, the album follows the story of a boy on an exploration, mirrored by the rhythmic progression throughout the record.
The album creates this effect using techniques such as re-recording cassette tapes played backward, looping guitar phrases, and drum samples that use only the attack sound.
Munetoshi runs a hair salon in Osaka and primarily records music using five synthesizers set into the wall beside the cash register.
