This work is based on an original essential oil inspired by the “night.” The album was produced by Yumi Iwaki, a Tokyo-based electronic musician who has worked across various media as a composer and lyricist since the 1990s.
Nocturnal brings together synthesizers, live instruments such as piano and kalimba, and environmental sounds, creating a soundscape inspired by the night. The album moves between different perspectives, from the intimate experience of being alone late at night to an expansive view of cities and forests seen from above. Together, these sounds evoke the many different aspects of night.
