Kankyō Records’ charity compilation series Music for Resorts was launched in 2024 as a response to the increasing pressures on the natural world — from climate change and extreme weather to rapid urbanization and environmental decline. It seeks to hold onto the places and landscapes that shape our sense of origin and belonging, and to consider what might be lost.
For the second volume, eight artists from Japan, the US, the Netherlands, the UK, and Canada offer their own sonic visions of a “resort.” The tracks weave subtle musical expressions that move between peace and memory, conveying hopes for the restoration of our fading natural world.
