Lindsey Wang, the Munich-based artist behind Polygonia, has established herself as a constantly inventive and omnipresent force within the modern electronic landscape. She explores varying shades of ambient and deep techno while increasingly spreading into downtempo and leftfield electronica with a playful yet mysterious spirit.
As an instructive title, Dream Horizons reflects Wang’s approach to the album as a collection of different dream scenarios, with all the creative freedom the concept implies. From oceanic calm to artful propulsion, she shifts gears track to track, relishing the strange and beautiful atmospheres her inspiration pointed towards. A multi-instrumentalist and producer, Wang recorded her own voice, saxophone, flute, violin, and percussion to infuse organic, human vibrancy into the surreal spaces she crafts, capturing the uncanny sensation of alien and familiar that hangs over the places we visit when we sleep.
