why we love this

Humming with the warmth of magnets, both natural and manmade, Thme examines the motions of attraction and repulsion. The telluric drones on this record are at once immutable and ephemeral—an exquisite study in texture.

about the record

Thme is the alias of Paris-based musician Théo Martin, and Anti Atlas marks his first solo work since 2023.

The use of magnetic tape remains central to his creative process, allowing him to infuse the sound with fragility and vulnerability despite its inherent unpredictability. Feedback loops, shaped by interactions between tape recorders, serve as the guiding principle throughout the recording.

A sense of longing runs through the album—heartfelt aspirations and quiet hopes that gently pull us toward what lies ahead.
