ᵒ˶°´ is the first entry in an ongoing series exploring the world of insects and other macroinvertebrates. Inspired by a shift in perspective informed by personal experiences with these animals, each song invites the listener into the mind of a bug — to imagine their thoughts, their feelings, their dreams — in hopes of fostering a world where empathy extends to the smallest creatures, even those that may bring fear or discomfort.

Recorded sporadically during practice sessions and while testing new custom devices for the norns sound computer, the 10 tracks of ᵒ˶°´ expand on the electroacoustic loop miniatures of caught in pointers and * with the addition of analog synth textures and structured songwriting, drawing from Japanese environmental music and ’90s VGM.
