This publication brings together essays, practices, conversations, and artworks from artists, researchers, and activists who engage with sound and listening as acts of resistance against hegemonic structures. The themes explored and historicized span diverse geographies and contexts, addressing environmental and military violence, communal agency, Indigenous technologies, colonial archives, radio practices, cultural cannibalism, and more-than-human ontologies. Borders—both physical and metaphorical—serve as sites where the authors position themselves and contest knowledge. Central to these texts are questions of methodology and positionality, alongside a commitment to action and form, where performing, dialoguing, and instigating become vital methods of research.

Border-Listening / Escucha-Liminal – Volume 3 features contributions by Adrián Sallo Sallo, Alejandra Ríos Ruiz, BELLACOMSOM, Ekaterina Golovko, Karen Werner, Mariana Carvalho, Mariano Rosales, Nico Daleman, Nicole L’Huillier, Paola Torres Nuñez del Prado, and Wilwer Vilca. It also includes conversations with Caline Matar and Yazan Khalili, and presents artworks by Alan Courtis, Laura Mello, Pisitakun Kuantalaeng, Romi Ron Morrison, and Yara Mekawei.
